Malaysia-based Nigerian socialite, Hushpuppi, is to be extradited to Nigeria from the United Arab Emirates where he was arrested over a $35million fraud, the Nation reports.

This was confirmed by Commissioner of Police (CP) INTERPOL, Garba Umar, in a statement to the paper.

“It is true that Hushpuppi was arrested by the INTERPOL. We are currently working on bringing him to Nigeria to face charges of fraud.

“Some of the offences were committed here in Nigeria and he has to answer for them. He is not alone in it; there are accomplices in the country who we are currently on their trail,” said.

Hushpuppi, whose real name is Raymond Igbalodely, and his friends simply identified as Woodberry and Efe, were on Tuesday arrested by the Interpol in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for allegedly defrauding an American state of $35 million meant for ventilators in the fight against the coronavirus.
