Executive vice chairman of Famfa Oil Limited Folorunso Alakija has said she believes that success should be measured by personal achievements and positive impact on others.

Mrs Alakija stated this in an Instagram post on Thursday, calling for unity in making Christmas memorable for many.

“As we gather with loved ones this Christmas, let us extend our warmth to those who may not be as fortunate by engaging in a meaningful gesture that transcends the joy of the season – making a difference in their lives,” the billionaire wrote.

“In my own journey, I’ve learned that success is not solely measured by personal achievements but by the positive impact we have on others.”

Alakija, who is also the group managing director of The Rose of Sharon Group, said she often draws inspiration from the words of great minds. She quoted famous American surgeon Ben Carson who once said, “Happiness doesn’t result from what we get, but from what we give.”

Concluding her post, the businesswoman wrote, “This profound wisdom encourages us to look beyond our own pursuits and find fulfillment in contributing to the well-being of those around us.

“In this season of giving, let us unite in our efforts to create smiles, share love, and bring hope to those who need it most.

“Together, we can make this Christmas not just a celebration for us and our families, but a beacon of hope to those in need.”
