How 36-year-old lawmaker-elect Isma’ila Maihanchi died one month to inauguration

A member-elect of the House of Representatives for Jalingo/Yorro/ Zing Federal Constituency Taraba State Isma’ila Maihanchi has died.

It was gathered that Maihanchi, 36, died in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.

He is expected to be buried according to Islamic rites on Saturday at the National Cemetery in Abuja.

Born on October 22, 1986, the politician and businessman was special adviser to Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku.

Maihanchi was one time the secretary of PDP in Taraba State.

He was elected to the House on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and would have been part of the 10th National Assembly to be inaugurated on May 29.
