Housewife ‘steals’ breast pads, Brazilian hair from Abuja supermarket

A 27-year-old housewife, Stella Okeke, has been arraigned in an Upper Area Court in Mpape, Abuja for allegedly stealing breast pads, Brazilian curl and other beauty items from a supermarket.

Mrs Okeke, a resident of Efab Estate, Lokogoma, Abuja, appeared in court on Wednesday on two-count charges of criminal trespass and stealing.

The court heard that the housewife visited a supermarket in November 2018 and allegedly stole Avent breast pads single unit, two pairs of sleeping suit, VIP virgin remy masic hair, Timeful Brazilian curl.

Police prosecutor, Stanley Nwaforaku, told the court that the case was reported by the supermarket’s manager, Bernard Ohaba, at the Apo Police Station Abuja on June 12.

The woman was also said to have stolen one blender valued at N59,900, vegetable oil and vacuum flask feeding bottle valued at N22,250.

Okeke has denied the charges.

Mr Nwaforaku said CCTV footage revealed her identity during investigation.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The judge, Hassan Muhammad, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N600,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Muhammad ordered that the sureties must submit a copy of their driver’s license or National ID for verification.

The judge adjourned the case until July 17 for hearing.
