Buhari wifeAt least 10 vehicles in the convoy of Mrs. Aishat Buhari, wife of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, were vandalised on Monday by hoodlums in Ilorin, Kwara State.

It was gathered that the incident happened along Emir road, Ilorin after she left the palace of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, where she paid a visit before moving to venue of a sensitisation programme at Banquet Hall of Government House, Ilorin.

Mrs. Buhari, wife of the vice-presidential candidate of the APC, Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo, and other top women leaders of the party were in Ilorin to sensitise the APC women in the state on how they will vote during the polls.

Kwara State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani, blamed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)for the attack on Mrs. Buhari.

Balogun-Fulani alleged that the attack was masterminded by a well known chieftain of the PDP from Kwara Central Senatorial District.

Hear him: “We also have it on good authority that two of the PDP hoodlums have been apprehended by the police.

“We are using this medium again to call on the police and other security agencies to be on the alert and call PDP to order.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Salihu Garba, confirmed the attack on Mrs. Buhari.

He, however, said the incident was caused by party thugs scrambling to collect money from political dignitaries, adding that only one vehicle was damaged.

Garba did not state if anyone had been arrested, but unconfirmed reports last night revealed that the state police command was quizzing two persons in connection with the incident
