Chef and Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has received her second Guinness World Record plaque, confirming her achievement for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
Guinness World Records said Ms Baci prepared 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice during a cookout held in Lagos in September.
The record was officially recognised as the largest of its kind.
The new plaque comes a year after Baci’s first Guinness title, which she earned in May 2023 for completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon.
With both titles, Baci becomes the first Nigerian chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
She shared photos of the plaques on Instagram on Thursday, describing her recognition as a story of “faith, fire, and history.”
“Our plaques are finally here. Two records, two plaques, one story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.
Hilda Baci also quoted Isaiah 61:7, saying, “Instead of shame, you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance.”
According to Guinness World Records, every portion of the jollof rice cooked during the event was distributed to guests and charity organisations in line with verification standards.
