Super Eagles youngster, Henry Onyekuru, may still have a realistic chance of featuring for Nigeria at the World Cup after returning from a knee injury.

Oneykuru, 20, was in blistering form for Anderlecht with 10 goals in 28 appearances before sustaining a serious knee injury in December.

The forward was expected to miss the Mundial in Russia.

However, his latest injury update will be good music in Gernot Rohr’s ears.

The dazzling star was exempted from the team’s friendlies against Poland and Serbia.

He took to Twitter to share updates on his recovery.

Onyekuru was snapped by Everton after impressing at KAS Eupen the previous season.

He is currently spending time at Toffees training ground, with the club’s medical staff assessing the striker ahead of potentially representing Anderlecht in the coming weeks.

The former Eupen man is contracted to the Premier League side until 2022.

Onyekuru has been capped once but is one of Nigeria’s brightest prospects in Europe.
