The minister of art, culture, tourism and creative economy, Hannatu Musawa, stole the spotlight on Sunday at the 2025 Ojude Oba Festival in Ijebu Ode as she stepped out in traditional Yoruba attire.

A video shared online showed the minister walking gracefully beside two other women, all dressed in richly embroidered Yoruba outfits.

Musawa’s look was complete with an intricately tied headgear.

The high-profile cultural event was further lit up by the presence of Nollywood stars Lateef Adedimeji and Femi Branch.

The duo mingled with the crowd and participated enthusiastically in the day’s festivities, bringing a dash of celebrity glamour to the vibrant occasion.

Held annually to honour the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Ojude Oba Festival celebrates a blend of Islamic heritage and Yoruba tradition.

With origins dating back to the 19th century, the event draws dignitaries, tourists, and locals from far and wide.

Participants were seen dressed in colourful traditional attire such as Agbada, Iro and Buba, made from iconic fabrics like Aso Oke, Sanyan and Adire.

The celebration featured horse riding displays by age-grade groups (regberegbe), cultural performances, drumming, dancing and ceremonial gun salutes—all paying homage to Ijebu customs and unity.
