Hannatu Musawa, Ali Nuhu, Aisha Augie, Rahama Sadau attend India Republic Day celebration in Abuja

Minister of art, culture and creative economy Hannatu Musawa on Friday night led a delegation to an event at the Indian High Commission in Nigeria to celebrate the 75th Republic Day of India.

Those who joined Musawa at the event were the newly-appointed managing director of National Film Corporation (NFC), Ali Nuhu; and the director-general of Centre for Black and African Arts and Culture, Aisha Augie. Also present was Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Rahama said she was honoured to have been invited to the event by the High Commissioner of India Bala Subramanian.

“Honored to be invited by the High Commissioner of India Mr Bala Subramanian to celebrate the 75th Republic Day of India,” she wrote.

Ali reposted Rahama’s post on his Instagram page.

Augie also posted photos of the event on Instagram, expressing appreciation for being part of it.

“It was a beautiful display of culture and a reminder for us all on the importance of owning where we come from with pride. I got to catch up with members of the Arts, Culture and Creative Economy team, fellow DG colleague @realalinuhu and talented little sis @rahamasadau amongst others. Indian gastronomy was another highlight of the night,” she wrote.

Republic Day is celebrated every January 26 in India. This year, French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest.
