Halima Abubakar returns to Nollywood after battling illness

Actress Halima Abubakar is back in the movie industry after battling an undisclosed illness.

Her colleague Emeka Okoye announced her return to the screen in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Emeka shared Halima’s photo, saying that she is ready to resume work as an actor.

“Oh yeah, It’s official that our delectable beautiful veteran actress @halimabubakar is back to the screens. So now producers executive producers get on her Dm or ask for her official business number and start booking her for the season.
She is also available for travelling outside Lagos for work.

So go start booking before her schedule gets choked. You know she is still the queen of delivery when it comes to any of kind of scripts,” he wrote.

Reacting in the comment section of the post, Halima thanked her colleague for his support.

“You are so sweet my brother keep the positive and supportive energy. I appreciate this,” she wrote.

Halima’s management announced her exit from the movie industry in an Instagram post on October 17, 2022.

The post read: “Halima Abubakar quits acting. We are so grateful for all the prayers, God bless you all. We love you all. Thank you for your support. She is so downcast. She really did love acting.”

This comes after Halima announced on Instagram that she had been treating an undisclosed illness for a long time. The actress also accused the president of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman of being responsible for the illness.

The 38-year-old who accused the Apostle of being ‘diabolic’ claimed she agreed to date him at the time because the cleric told her he had separated from his wife.

Responding to the allegations through his legal team, Apostle Suleman warned the actress to discontinue her attacks on his personality or risk being dragged before a court of law.

Born on June 12, 1985, Halima began her acting career in 2001.

She has starred in movies such as Men in Love, Slip of Fate, Tears of a Child, White Hunters and Area Mama.
