Unknown gunmen early Saturday raided the country home of the immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, in Ogboko, Ideato South Council Area of Imo State.

A family source told The Nation that the gunmen arrived Okorocha’s residence at about 2 am and overpowered the security officers before gaining entrance into the main building.

The unnamed source said Okorocha’s bedroom and other places were thoroughly ransacked.

The assailants left without taking any valuables, the source said.

When contacted, Imo police spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu, said he was yet to be officially briefed about the alleged invasion.

Also, armed men suspected to be government officials have allegedly stormed a radio station, Reach FM, believed to be owned by Okorocha.

Sources say the men who refused to disclose their identity gave the management three days to pull down the structure or be ejected by force.

This comes days after Akachi Tower, one of the monuments built by the former governor, was demolished on alleged orders of the new governor, Emeka Ihedioha.
