Gunmen kidnap wife of Super Eagles star, Fegor Ogude

Maimunat, the wife of Nigeria international, Fegor Ogude, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

The 28-year-old midfielder who is yet to get a look from new Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, was a key figure under his predecessor, Stephen Keshi.

Ogude, while narrating his ordeal to TheCable, disclosed that the sad incident occurred at about 7:30 – 8pm local time on Monday in his home in Warri, Delta state, while he was away.

The Amkar Perm of Russia star revealed that the abductors took his wife alone leaving behind his kids and he is yet to know her present state.

“I wasn’t home yesterday. My wife, Maimunat Ogude, went out with my kids. Barely two hours that I left the house, my younger brother Ogaga called me to say that some armed men came to the house to take my wife away,” said the midfielder, who has 16 International caps. “I was told that they threw my kids out of the car and just took my wife in my car.”

Ogude, who won the 2013 African Cup of Nations and featured at the FIFA Confederations Cup for Nigeria same year, added that he has already reported the incident to the police but they could only recover his car without his wife.

“Immediately I heard this, I had to go to the police station to report this. And after making the report, I tried tracing them to see if by chance I could get the direction they went to. But I could not.

“All these happened between 7:30/8pm last night. Till this moment, I have not heard from them. I haven’t found my wife till this moment.

“But I got a call from the police that my car had been found in Ughelli. But no words yet from the kidnappers. I don’t know the state in which my wife is since last night.”

This isn’t the first time that the relative of a Nigerian football personality have been kidnapped.

Mother of Dream Team VI coach, Samson Siasia, as well as the father of Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, have both gotten a fair share of the bitter pill.
