Gulder Ultimate Search winner Hector Jobarteh killed by robbers

Winner of the third edition of Gulder Ultimate Search, Hector Jobarteh, was on Saturday fatally shot by suspected armed robbers.

News of his death was posted on Facebook by users identified as Baskelly Legendhustler and Oluwatosin Van Phillips Genesis.

The former reality TV show contestant reportedly trailed from the airport where he had gone to pick his younger brother.

Two armed men were said to have forced their way into the building where he lived and located their target after questioning his neighbours.

They opened fire upon sighting him, according to an online report by Tribune.

Jobarteh was pronounced dead at the hospital

His father was also shot in the hand but is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

The deceased’s wife, who was also a contestant on the now rested TV show sponsored by Nigerian Breweries, was not at home when the attack occur as she is said to live outside the country.

Jobarteh won GUS 3 held at NIFOR, Benin City in Edo State, going home with the grand prize of N5million and a Ford Explorer SUV.

He got married in 2013.

Otto Canon Chimenem, the third runner-up in the 2014 edition of Gulder Ultimate Search, was reportedly kidnapped in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in July but regained his freedom a few days after.
