Greg Odutayo explores love, hope, betrayal in Beyond Blood

Film and television maestro, Greg Odutayo, organised a media viewing  for his latest offering, Beyond Blood, in Lagos on Tuesday.

And the former president of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) has come with a tale of love, hope and betrayal told in moving narrative and arresting images.

With a star studded cast of the likes of Kehinde Bankole, Carol King, Wole Ojo, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bimbo Manuel and Joseph Benjamin, the new movie from the stables of Royal Roots Nigeria, HF Media and the Script Kompany is definitely a must watch.

Written by Debo Oluwatuminu, Beyond Blood is a story about Moji, a young Oxford educated woman with a passion for social justice and equality.

As the families prepare for the wedding, a series of unpleasant events occur that upturns the relationship and throws everyone into disarray. Rather than confront the situation, Moji decides to “run away” to London in the hope that in her search for her brother, she will discover him and re-discover herself. But things aren’t always what they seem.

According to the producers, “We told a simple story. One which does not aim to change the world or its preoccupations, rather, one that takes the audience on a journey, all the while respecting and honouring their decision to watch this particular film in a world filled with other choices. A beautiful story of love that begs the question ‘can love truly conquer all’. Maybe and maybe not”.

The new flick was produced by Deborah Odutayo and executively produced by Bidemi Fahm and Gregory Odutayo.

Beyond Blood which was shot on a location in Lagos and London features four different languages- English, Yoruba, Pidgin and French.

The movie is set to officially premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas, Victoria Island , Lagos on January 14, 2016 and will be in all major cinemas nationwide starting from January 15, 2016.
