Tech giant, Google, has celebrated Nigeria with a special doodle as the country marks its 59th Independence Day anniversary.

The doodle features the Nigerian green-white-green coloured flag, with a picture of Aso Rock displayed in the background.

Independence Day in Nigeria is observed on October 1 and is observed as a national holiday.

It has been used to celebrate many historical figures and events around the world.

Some late icons that have been honoured with the doodle include Stephen Keshi, Buchi Emecheta, Sam Okwaraji among others.
