Go Round FC clinch Nigeria National League

Go Round FC

Go Round FC have emerged as the Nigeria National League (NNL) champions following a 2-1 victory over Heartland.

GO Round came out unscathed in the Super Four tournament held at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday evening.

Kwara United and Yobe Desert Stars flew the flag of the Northern Conference while Heartland and Round represented the south.

But it was the two sides from the tropics that found their way to the final.

Heartland finished the regular season as winners of the poll, however, it wasn’t to be in the play-off.

Solomon Nwachukwu was the hero for Ngozi Elechi’s side as he netted a brace either side of Heartland forward Lucky Emariojoke’s leveller to hand his side an important victory.

The victory is a morale-boosting one ahead of Go Round’s debut campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

Alongside the Omoku-based side, the three other finalists will compete in the top-tier of Nigerian football next season.

The new campaign will kick start on Sunday, January 14.
