Funlola Aofiyebi pays tribute to late rapper, Ty

Nollywood actress, Funlola Aofiyebi, has paid tribute to the late rapper, Ben Chigioke, popularly known as Ty, who died on Thursday of coronavirus.

The Tinsel star shared the tribute on Instagram on Saturday.

She wrote, ”Corona whyyyy? Your fans know you as Ty (pronounced tie) but I know you as Ben Chigioke…Respected and celebrated till the end. News said you were out of ICU but God had his plans so we must accept however painful. RIP Ben Chigioke!!! You will be missed but your music remains with us…”

Ty, who was born in the United Kindom to Nigerian parents in 1972, released his debut album, The Awkward in 2001.

His sophomore album, Upwards, was nominated for the Mercury Prize alongside Amy Winehouse and The Streets.
