The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ilorin Command,  was arrested and prosecuted 111 road traffic offenders.

The Sector Commander, Sunday Maku, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.

NAN reports that the offences include the use of expired vehicle particulars, driver’s license and refusal to fasten seatbelts.

“A total number of 111 persons were arrested and prosecuted; five persons were discharged while 106 persons have been convicted for various offences by the FRSC mobile court.

“Seven other persons have been ordered to renew their vehicle papers,” he said.

Maku said that the mobile court was a statutory arm of the FRSC set up to checkmate the excesses of drivers on the road.

“We are considering making the court to sit weekly because as much as possible, we want sanity to prevail on Kwara roads.
