France dominate FIFA best player award nominees

World champions, France, were well represented in the FIFA Best Player award announced on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain youngster, Kylian Mbappe lead the way accompanied by Madrid-based duo Raphael Varane and Antoine Griezmann.

Belgium has Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard on a shortlist completed by World Cup golden boot winner Harry Kane of England and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.

Serial winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi made the list joined by Luca Modric.

The winners announced in London on September 24 are voted by national coaches and captains, plus media from FIFA’s 211 member countries, and fans voting online.
