Rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has stirred controversy online after declaring that fornication is not a sin—an assertion that contradicts biblical teachings and has drawn heavy backlash from religious circles.
The 34-year-old made the statement in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, writing simply: “Fornication is not a sin.”
The bold claim quickly ignited widespread debate across social media platforms including X and Instagram, attracting both support and condemnation.
While some defended Falz’s right to express his views, others—particularly those from Christian communities—responded with outrage, quoting Bible verses and questioning his moral judgment.
One user reacted with repetition for emphasis, posting, “Fornication is a sin, FLEE! Fornication is a sin, FLEE! Fornication is a sin, FLEE ! Fornication is a sin, FLEE.”
Another expressed disappointment in the singer’s legal background, saying, “I’m shocked to see this kind of tweet from a lawyer himself. May God have mercy.”
Referencing Falz’s marital status, one user added, “No wonder you no gree marry🤣🤣🤣.”
Other critics pointed to scriptural authority. “1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. Always read your Bible,” one wrote.
Another user warned against being misled, commenting: “Don’t let anyone deceive you, there is no advantage to having premarital sex. It hampers your emotional progress, physical health, spiritual closeness with God and mental health. Bed undefiled! Stay safe. FLEE!✌”
Despite the backlash, some defended the rapper’s perspective. One supporter wrote, “Many things are not ACTUALLY a sin but we’ve been MISLEADED.”
Falz, known for his outspoken views on social and political issues, has not yet issued a follow-up post in response to the criticism.
