Former Leventis United coach, Emmanuel Okoh, dies at 65

Former Leventis United Chief Coach, Emmanuel Okoh, has died at the age of 65, according to a statement by his family.

A statement by News Editor of Champion Newspapers Limited, Charles Okoh, on behalf of the deceased’s family said the tactician died after a protracted illness in a Lagos hospital at 4.30am on Tuesday.

An ex-footballer, Okoh, skippered Leventis Football Club (Iddo Tigers) in Lagos before being made coach of the Ibadan-based all-conquering Leventis United.

He was voted the best coach in the country when he led Leventis United to the finals of the African Cup Winners Cup.

Okoh also coached Calabar Rovers, Delta Steel FC as well as Union Bank of Lagos, before quitting coaching to venture into other business endeavours.
