Former Enyimba star, Christian Jacob, was shot dead along Umuola road in Aba, the commercial city of Abia state.
The Police Command in Abia on Thursday confirmed the killing of the player by suspected assassins.
Police spokesperson, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, said that the shooting took place outside his house in Ogbor Hill.
Christian Jacob was nicknamed ‘Nkita ara,’ he was a close friend of former Super Eagles defender Obinna Nwaneri.
Christian played for Enyimba Football Club of Aba, Iwuanyanwu National Football club of Owerri, Imo state and FC Sheriff of Moldova among others.
