Foluke Adeboye bags honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University

Pastor Foluke Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) on Saturday received a honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University in Benin, Edo State.

The varsity awarded Pastor Foluke, popularly known as Mummy GO, doctor of education. This is coming just three days after her 74th birthday.

The septuagenarian shared her excitement on the award on social media.

She said, “Today, I’m indeed grateful to God almighty for hitherto he has helped me knowing fully well that all of these achievements is by him alone, him alone deserves all the praises.”

She had words also for her husband Pastor Enoch Adeboye. “My darling husband @pastoreaadeboyeofficial who is my mentor and has always pushed me to be more, God bless you for the constant support,” she said.

Adeboye, fondly called Daddy GO, described his wife in a post across social media platforms as a “woman whose life epitomises excellence through hard work and has over the years devoted her entire life to empowering humanity through provision of quality education and scholarships at different levels globally.”

Their son Leke also celebrated his mum’s achievement on social media.

He said, “Congratulations mum on achieving your Doctorate degree and making us all proud. Thank you for setting such a great example.”

This is not the first time Pastor Foluke is getting such honour. In 2000, the University of Sussex awarded her doctor in divinity. Redeemer’s University awarded her doctor in management and operations in 2015.
