FIFA, CAF, Chelsea, others celebrate Drogba at 40

Didier Drogba

World football ruling body, FIFA, led the tributes on Sunday as African football legend, Didier Drogba, clocked 40.

The former Cote dโ€™Ivoire captain and two-time African Footballer of the Year also received goodwill messages from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and English club, Chelsea, where he spent the best part of his professional career.

His trophy haul at Chelsea includes four Premier League, four FA Cup, three Football League Cup, two FA Community Shield and one Champions League.

He scored more goals than any other foreign player for Chelsea and is currently the club’s fourth highest goal scorer of all time.

Currently a player-owner of Phoenix Rising FC in the US, Drogba is easily one of the most recognisable faces in football history.

And the world came together to celebrate his 40th birthday.
