Female suicide bombers kill five, injure 45 in Maiduguri

Five persons were on Saturday killed and 45 others injured in a suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri, Borno State emergency management agency said on Sunday.

Head of Emergency Response Operations, Kachalla Usman, told NAN that two female suicide bombers detonated Improvised Explosives Device (IEDs) vests strapped to their bodies in a crowded place at Muna-Dalti area of Maiduguri on Saturday night.

Mr Usman said two of the deceased died after being taken to the hospital.

The injured persons, he added, were receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.
