Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of a legal practitioner, Princess Chigbo Mediatrix, in Abuja.
The suspects were arrested following directives by the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Miller Dantawaye, to identify and arrest those linked to the incident.
Police operatives from the Scorpion Squad, led by ACP Victor Godfrey, tracked the victim’s mobile phone using digital intelligence and carried out operations between January 5 and January 10, 2026, in Dei-Dei, Dakwa and Dan-Tata communities in Kubwa area of the FCT.
The suspects arrested are Saifullahi Yusuf, 22; Ishau Yusuf, 24 and Minka’ilu Jibril, also known as Dan-Hajia.
The police said Saifullahi and Ishau are brothers. All three are from Kaduna State and reside in the Dei-Dei axis of Abuja.
Preliminary investigation showed that the suspects are members of a “one-chance” robbery group that operates within the FCT.
According to the police, on January 5, at about 5:50 pm, Princess Chigbo boarded a black Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle along the Kubwa Expressway.
The occupants were said to have wound up the vehicle’s tinted windows and threatened her with weapons in an attempt to collect money.
The police said she was assaulted and pushed out of the moving vehicle, which led to her death.
The suspects allegedly admitted to taking the victim’s Android mobile phone, which was later sold at Dei-Dei for N120,000.
Police said Minka’ilu Jibril received N30,000, Saifullahi Yusuf received N15,000, while Ishau Yusuf and another suspect identified as Musa, who is still at large, shared the remaining amount.
Items recovered from the suspects include five scissors, two daggers, two knives, a long chain and a plier.
The police said investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to arrest the suspect who is still at large and identify other members of the group.
The FCT Police Command advised residents to remain alert, avoid unregistered or suspicious vehicles and report suspicious activities through its emergency lines: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
