Fans tackle Desmond Elliot over unfulfilled campaign promises

Some fans have taken to social media to critcise Nollywood actor-turned politician, Desmond Elliot, for allegedly not fulfilling the promises he made while campaigning to be elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Desmond was elected on April 11, 2015 to represent Surulere 1 Constituency at the Lagos Assembly on the platform of the All progressives Congress (APC).

He described his victory as a privilege and promised never to take it for granted.

But residents of his constituency and fans on Twitter have accused him of not fulfilling his promises.

A fan reminded him of a promise to restore electricity to a certain Ogunmola Close.

The 42-year-old politician, who temporarily forgot about change of ownership in the power sector, replied by saying he is not the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).

Some fans would not let him off easily over what they termed his angry response, prompting the beleaguered politician to tweet the following.

He eventually apologised to the fan with the original query for his wrong use of words.
