Family of first Nigerian to win US Congressional seat holds thanksgiving in Kwara

The family of Adeoye Owolewa who has been elected into the US House of Representatives to represent the District of Colombia has held a thanksgiving in Kwara State.

A special thanksgiving prayer was led by the chief imam of Omu-Aran Sodiq Alalobo on Sunday at the family’s residence in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Goverment Area.

The Olomu of Omu-Aran Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti represented by Eesa of Omu-Aran High Chief Jide Adebayo said he was delighted as it was the first time a Nigerian would be attaining such height in the US.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Funsho Owolewa said the Owolewa family were always the first in almost everything good things.

The Owolewa family later moved to the palace of the Olomu where they were received by a joyous crowd while Oba Adeoti prayed for them.

Owolewa a Democrat is a Ph.D holder in Pharmacy from the Northeastern University, Boston, US.
