Former minister of education, Oby Ezekwesili, has celebrated an ex-newscaster at Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Bimbo Oloyede.

The former presidential candidate wrote glowingly of Mrs Oloyede in a tweet on Thursday.

Mrs Ezekwesili said: “Amazing journalism 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 of her time. Still charging on and reproducing herself through training of young women in the media space. Here’s my beautiful, brilliant and ageless friend, Bimbo Oloyede of the Bimbo Roberts fame when NTA was still NTA. She’s forever a 🌟.”

Oloyede was nominated as a newscaster for NTA’s 9 pm Network News when NBC was reorganised into NTA.

Her first broadcast was in April 1976. She left NTA in 1980 and co-founded a media company with her husband.
