Ezekwesili, Aisha Yesufu, Fani-Kayode, others react to pigeons’ refusal to fly

Oby Ezekwesili

Following the temporary refusal by pigeons to fly on Friday at the Armed Forces Remembrance after being released by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, Nigerians have begun reacting diversely.

Former presidential candidate Oby Ezekwesili wondered why the pigeons refused to fly.

She tweeted: “Hmmm. Even the pigeons in Nigeria.”

Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls movement Aisha Yesufu asked sarcastically: “Go where?!”

Former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode tweeted: “Even the pigeons refused to fly! What type of bad luck does this man have?”

In 2014, the pigeons refused to fly when former President Goodluck Jonathan freed them. Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, described the incident at the time as a sign that God had abandoned Jonathan.
