Former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, has advised Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) to ‘quickly’ respond to rape allegation by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo.

Mrs Dakolo in an interview with Chude Jideonwo on YNaija TV revealed that as a teenager in the Divine Delight Club, the precursor to COZA, she was groomed and raped by the pastor.

The mother of three said it happened while she was a 16-year-old secondary school student living with her parents in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Narrating the incident, Busola said: “Immediately I opened the door (of her house in Ilorin), he just pushed me, he didn’t say anything, he didn’t utter any word, he just pushed me to one of the chairs in my living room.

“I saw him, he was removing his belt, he just said: ‘keep quiet, do what I want you to do and you will be fine.’”

In reaction, Mrs Ezekwesili tweeted on Friday that what she read about Busola’s experience was ‘too horrific’.

She advised the pastor to respond quickly to the allegation.

“I have just read @YNaija interview with Mrs Busola Dakolo on her former Pastor, Pastor Fatoyinbo of COZA.

“What I read is too horrific an experience. I pray Healing. Rape is a scourge we must all fight. I’d advise the Pastor to quickly respond to her weighty charges. Quickly,” she said.

“It is daily evident that our country does have a Rape Epidemic problem.  It must be tackled swiftly. The Police & Public Prosecution must take the lead to seek Justice for victims&signal deterrent.”
