Ex-Tanzanian president leads Commonwealth observers team to Nigeria

Former President of Tanzania, Jakaya Kikwete, has led other members of Commonwealth Observer Mission to Nigeria ahead of the general elections.

The group has met with the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu, and other key members of the Commission at the INEC conference hall in Abuja.

Former Liberian President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, last Wednesday, arrived in Nigeria with the Election Observation Mission team of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

They also had talks with INEC on arrival.
