Nigeria national team head coach Éric Chelle has drawn reactions on social media following comments he made during an Africa Cup of Nations media interaction.
A video clip shared on X on Sunday night by sports journalist @Iam_agt showed Chelle speaking to reporters about the demands placed on him during the tournament.
In the video, Chelle spoke about the attention from journalists and the limited time available to him during the competition.
“Everybody wants to kill me. They don’t want me to rest a little,” the coach said.
He added, “They don’t want me to go back to the hotel to eat, to sleep, to analyse my game.”
The clip has generated discussion among football fans.
Nigeria finished the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations without a loss and will face the knockout phase of the competition next.
