Ethiopia’s Sintayehu Legese wins 2019 Lagos City Marathon

An Ethiopian Athlete, Sintayehu Legese, has won the 2019 edition of the Lagos City Marathon.

The competition started at 6.25 a.m. on Saturday with no fewer than 20,000 runners.

Legese finished the race with a time of 2:17:26.

His victory guarantees him the grand prize of $50,000.

The second runner up, a Kenyan athlete, Joshua Kipkorir, had a finish time of 2:18:16.

Kipkorir will go home with $40,000.

The third runner up, also a Kenyan, William Yegon, had a finish time of 2:19:04.

Yegon’s third place finish guarantees him the sum of $30, 000.

In the Nigerian category, the first place winner will go home with N3 million, second position will win N2 million, while the third position gets N1 million.
