Epe residents protest against EFCC search at Ambode’s residence

Epe residents foil EFCC search at Ambode's residence

Epe residents on Tuesday resisted the search by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the residence of the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The anti-graft agency’s operatives stormed Mr Ambode’s residence as early as 9 am.

They were soon greeted by angry protesters who prevented them from coming out of their vehicles.

Ambode, who is reportedly out of the country, is allegedly linked to the sum of N9.9 billion which the EFCC sought a court’s permission to freeze recently.

When some of the EFCC operatives attempted to open their vehicles, threats of deflecting their tyres filled the air.

The operatives soon sped off shooting intermittently into the air.

As they left, the back windshield of the bus appeared to have been shattered.

It is not known if anyone was injured.
