It was all smiles for Enyimba FC when they hosted FC IfeanyiUbah in a rescheduled week nine match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Wednesday.

The Peoples’ Elephant saw off their local rivals 2-0 in one of the league’s biggest derbies known as the Oriental derby.

Skipper, Mfon Udoh, who clocked 24 on Tuesday, killed off the encounter with an 88th-minute goal to add to Joseph Osadiaye’s first half strike.

The victory is Enyimba’s first in six games which takes them up to eight on the log with 18 points.

IfeanyiUbah have now lost seven league games to remain 16th with 14 points.

Mountain of Fire Ministries, meanwhile, continued their impressive run with their second successive stalemate on the road against Wikki Tourist.

Shammah Tanzeh put the hosts in front after 35 minutes before Stanley Okoro perked back an equaliser in the second half for the Prayer Warriors.

What this means is that MFM, with a game in hand, climbs to third place with 21 points while Wikki remains rooted to the bottom of the log after garnering 12 points from 12 games.
