Entertainers are tired of staying out of politics – Davido

Davido

Pop musician, Davido, on Sunday said entertainers are tired of being threatened and coerced to stay out of politics.

The 26-year-old musician said this in posts on social media.

On Twitter he said, “Aren’t we Entertainers tired of pple telling us to stay out of politics because it’s dangerous.

Davido said that Nigeria was the business of entertainers as well and they have stakes in how the country is being run.

He later added: “We have the power not them !! They know this but they don’t want ‘US’ to know !!

“All that killing , threatening and kidnapping shit because some one is speaking the truth ENDS NOW !!! #DEFENDYOURVOTE.”

Davido alleged that he has been denied use of the Eko Atlantic City in Victoria Island  as venue for his end of the year show in December 2018.

The ‘Assurance’ singer made allusions to political powers attempting to sabotage the show because of his support for his uncle during the 2018 Osun State gubernatorial election.

Davido was heavily involved in the campaign to get his uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, elected as Osun governor in September.

He also performed at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on October 6, 2018.
