#EndSARS: Hoodlums set police station on fire in Benin

Police Shiite clash in Abuja

Suspected hoodlums on Monday morning set Ugbekun Police Station in Benin, Edo State capital on fire.

Police vehicles were also vandalised.

The suspected hoodlums attacked the police station after breaking into a medium-security correctional centre on Sapele Road popularly called White House.

Several inmates were freed in the process.

The suspected hoodlums also destroyed a High Court 4 beside the prison.

The wave of violence in Benin follows reports that the #EndSARS protest which began peacefully against police brutality had been hijacked.
