Following the attack on a correctional centre on Sapele Road, Benin, Edo State, hoodlums on Monday attacked the Oko Medium Security Centre in the state and freed the inmates.

The incident comes after the #EndSARS protest was hijacked by the hoodlums.

The facility has the capacity to accommodate 1,300 inmates.

It was gathered that the hoodlums looted shops and carted away valuables from offices of prison officials.

The hoodlums also attacked police stations and burnt vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Edo State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew across the state effective 4 pm on Monday to curb the unrest.
