‘Ekwueme’ singer Osinachi Nwachukwu is dead

Gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu has died.

The woman, popularly known for her hit song ‘Ekwueme’, died on Friday after a brief illness.

This is coming a week after fellow gospel singer Chinedu Nwadike died of blood cancer.

Confirming her death, fellow gospel singer Edwin Alex wrote on Facebook, “JUST 6 days ago, I called Mr Peter Nwachukwu to declare my intentions to do a song with his wife, Osinachi Nwachukwu and have her for my next meeting as well….He accepted my request, but asked me to give him a while to arrange something, then pray about it as well, I was in Abuja on Monday, called him again, and he said he’ll call me back the next day, the following day his lines were off, not until now I saw this news, what is this?I’m seriously pained, I still can’t believe this is true….OMG RIP GOD’S GENERAL.”

Osinachi has been featured in songs like ‘Nara Ekele’ by Pastor Paul Enenche of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, ‘Ekwueme’ by Prospa Ochimana, and ‘You no dey use me play’ by Emma among many others.

The Igbo gospel singer became popular after ‘Ekwueme’ was released in 2017.

She was the twin sister of another gospel singer Amarachi Grace Eze.
