Edo deputy gov’s brother regains freedom from kidnappers

Frederick Shaibu the younger brother of Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu has been released by his abductors, a family source has confirmed.

Mr Shaibu, it was gathered, was released on Wednesday in good health.

The family has refused to disclose the amount paid as ransom.

“I can tell you authoritatively that Frederick has been released to the family and he is in good health. The family is happy to have him and he is also happy to rejoin his family after his ordeal in the hands of his abductors,” the source told PUNCH.

Shaibu was kidnapped on Monday while driving his kids to school in Irhiri, Benin. His children were not taken by the gunmen.
