Easter: Uduaghan preaches forgiveness, love and peace

Emmanuel Uduaghan

Uduaghan2Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has called on Nigerians, especially Deltans to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did.

Besides, he enjoined Nigerians to maintain the peace and decorum that pervaded the March 28 presidential elections during the governorship and houses of assembly elections next week.

In a goodwill message to mark this year’s Easter celebrations by Christians worldwide, the Governor said that Nigerians should put behind the events that characterized the presidential elections and live in peace and love as exemplified by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“As Christians all over the world celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, I urge all Nigerians, especially Deltans to forgive one another and show love to all like Christ did”, he stated.

Uduaghan commended Deltans for turning out in large numbers to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last weekend elections and urged them to remain peaceful and law abiding in the remaining elections.

His words: “Permit me to use this medium to express my sincere gratitude to all Deltans who trooped out en masse to express their love for the PDP during the presidential and national Assembly elections. I still call on Deltans to remain peaceful during the governorship and State House of Assembly elections.”

The Governor said that as the administration winds down, the government would put finishing touches to most of its projects and by God’s grace as well as commission them soon.  He commended Deltans and residents in the State for their support and cooperation with my administration.

Uduaghan noted that by His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ gave Christians victory over death and liberated them from its fear, stressing that Easter was a season for the renewal of personal covenant with God and the relationship with the family, friends and neighbours.

“I pray that the peace, love, victory and joy, which the death and resurrection of Jesus brought to humanity, shall be the portion of Nigerians, particularly the good people of Delta State”, he stated.
