Dunamis church members arrest suspected robber during service in Benue

Members of Dunamis Church located along Modern Market Road, Makurdi, Benue State capital, on Sunday arrested a suspected armed robber during service.

The suspect, Terkaa Tsamber, was said to have attempted to steal the offering and other items worth several thousands of naira.

Mr Tsamber reportedly came into the church and made his way to the pastor’s office shortly after the end of second service around 10am.

After being caught in the act by a little girl from the children’s church, the suspect reportedly brought out a gun, prompting the girl to scream for help.

Several members of the church went after the suspect and traced him to a neighbouring house.

A member of the church said that when they saw the suspect he pointed a gun at them which had no bullet.

The source said the church’s office had been burgled few days ago while laptops and handsets belonging to the pastor and offering were stolen.

Benue police spokesperson, Sewuse Anene, said she had not been briefed on the case.
