DSS finally brings Sunday Igboho’s aides to court

Sunday Igboho Adeyemo

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday brought aides of activist Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho who were arrested on July 1 to the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The aides sued the DSS through their lawyer Pelumi Olajenbesi, claiming abuse of their rights.

The 12 aides were arrested when DSS officials raided Sunday Igboho’s home on July 1.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu had on July 29 ordered the DSS to produce the 12 aides in court, but the secret police failed to do so.

The judge issued another order and adjourned the case to August 2.

NAN reports that DSS officials at the court on Monday seized a phone belonging to Vanguard photojournalist Gbenga Olamikan.

The DSS operatives confiscated the phone following Mr Olamikan’s bid to take snapshots of the 12 aides. The phone was released to the photographer 40 minutes later.
