Drake reveals how he learnt pidgin English for Tekno-produced song

Canadian musician, Drake, has revealed that he had to research the pidgin English he used in Tekno-produced single, ‘We Won’t Be Late.’

Drake was featured on the song by American rapper, Swae Lee.

He uses pidgin English words like ‘Ikebe’ and ‘Bakassi’ on the island and house-flavoured song earning praise from Nigerians.

A fan saluted Tekno on Instagram for supposedly getting Drake to say the words.

But, responding to the fan, Drake said: “nah I did my own research.”

He also praised Tekno for the amazing production on the single.

Drake and Tekno have linked up in the past.

The Canadian superstar met with the Nigerian in December 2017 and shared pictures of their meeting with the caption, Tek Time.

He later praised the ‘Agege’ singer as one of the inspiration for his 2018 album, Scorpion.
