DJ Pretty Play recovers after 300-hour DJ marathon attempt

DJ and performer DJ Pretty Play is recovering after completing a 300-hour non-stop DJ marathon in a bid to set a new Guinness World Record.

The Akwa Ibom-born, Lagos-based DJ exceeded her initial 288-hour target, performing for 12 days from March 3 to March 15, 2026 at Bay Lounge in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

Her set featured a mix of Afrobeats, Afrohouse, hip-hop and Amapiano, with continuous crowd engagement throughout the attempt.

Following the endurance feat, she is receiving treatment for swollen legs, fatigue and breathing complications, and is currently on oxygen support.

During the challenge, she encountered setbacks, including having to restart after repeating a song four days into the attempt. She continued and completed the marathon, taking only five-minute breaks per hour.

The DJ has performed on major platforms including Big Brother Naija and the AFRIMMA Awards in the United States, and has worked with artistes such as Magnito and Skales.

The record is yet to be officially confirmed by Guinness World Records, with focus now on her recovery.
