Lagos disc jockey and remixer Babatunde Bashir-Bello, better known as DJ Babus, has died from COVID-19 complications.
The 2010 graduate of information systems and technology management from the University of Baltimore, USA died on Friday morning.
The only son of proprietor, Belinna Schools, Akoka, Lagos, Nadia Bello, DJ Babus was also a music producer, writer and talent manager.
He worked as resident DJ at Four Points by Sheraton, Lagos between 2014 and 2015 and later at RSVP Restaurant and Lounge.
He was the founder of Crates and Vinyl Entertainment and worked with brands like Ciroc, Puma, Samsung, Martel, Smirnoff, Kinabuti and Campari.
His discography includes the 2016 six-track Euphoria EP and 2020 ‘Jollof on the Beach’.
DJ Babus was a year older on December 29.
His death after weeks of battling with the coronavirus has prompted reactions from the Nigerian showbiz industry.
