Director of social media in the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy Olajide Atansuyi has earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in mass communication from Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State.

This comes four years after he began the doctorate programme.

The feat makes him the first public affairs officer in the state’s civil service to have a PhD.

His thesis is entitled: Rhetorical Strategies, Ideology and Power Discourse Framing in Social Media Political Campaign Posts of Selected Presidential Candidates towards Nigeria’s 2023 Election.”

Permanent secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy,  Olumide Sogunle said the feat not only shows Atansuyi’s commitment to scholarly excellence but also positions the state government at the forefront of cutting-edge communication strategies.
