Senator Dino Melaye on Wednesday took to social media to celebrate his daughter’s birthday just days after losing the governorship election in Kogi State.
Melaye suffered defeat at the polls on November 11 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. Usman Ododo won the election to succeed Governor Yahaya Bello of the same party, the All Progressives Congress.
In celebration of his daughter, Melaye posed for photos with the young girl who is seen holding her birthday cake.
The former Kogi West senator prayed that his daughter would continue to grow in wisdom and fear of God.
“Happy birthday, my beautiful daughter. God bless you and increase you on all sides. May you grow in the knowledge of His word. May you fear God and observe all His ordinances.
“Divine wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and retentive memory become your heritage. Love you, Gbotty,” he wrote in his Instagram post.
On Tuesday, the APC in Kogi State called on security agencies to immediately arrest Melaye over cybercrime, which the party alleged he had already confessed to in a live television programme.
The Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council said for Melaye to have claimed on national TV that he had access to the backend server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was “like walking into the prison yard and demanding to be locked up.”
