Dimgba Igwe noted for temperance, fairness, patriotism -Ibori

James Ibori

IboriFormer Delta State Governor, James Ibori, has described the death of Associate Publisher of Entertainment Weekly, Dimgba Igwe, as a terrible blow to both Nigerian journalism and the country.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart said Mr. Igwe was a consummate journalist who was wedded to the search for truth and all that was good.

In a press statement signed by his Media Assistant, Tony Eluemunor, Mr. Ibori said that what distinguished Igwe was not his prodigious talent or unfailing energy, but that he elected to walk in the way of temperance, fairness and patriotism.

“Dimgba Igwe did not misuse his podium to ingratiate anyone or to play God either but he walked the wholesome middle road, ladling out his respected opinions and essays in generous doses, ever with a healthy respect for the concept of truth and goodness,” Ibori said.

The politician, who is presently serving jail term in the United Kingdom for money laundering and conspiracy to defraud, prayed God to grant Igwe’s widow and children the grace to bear this irreplaceable loss.
